I tried an exclusive recipe from the HelloFresh menu – that’s what I thought

I’ve tried two HelloFresh dishes with delicious results – the creamy pesto dish is my new favorite summertime outdoor meal

I have to say that while I love to eat, I don’t necessarily love to cook.
Hours of manual work in the kitchen isn’t my idea of a great time and I’m usually distracted by other chores around the house – then you’ve magically burned the Lasagna Brijiena!
So I decided to try one of the popular meal subscription services in the UK, Hello Fresh .
Excitingly, I even got to try an exclusive recipe, namely fillet steak and blue cheese sauce with rosemary fries. The brand will be releasing this as a premium offer for Father’s Day and believe me you’re going to love it!
And for those of you who, like me, are unable to concentrate in the kitchen, I tried a super easy recipe that’s perfect for al fresco dining — and it only took about 20 minutes.

My HelloFresh box arrived on time, I received a prompt two hour delivery window on the morning of delivery and it arrived within the allotted time slot.
Everything was packaged really well including meat separated from veg and adequately lined with freezer bags.
I also liked that each ingredient for each meal was in a numbered bag – so there’s no chance of mixing things up.
The best thing about HelloFresh is that each ingredient is carefully pre-portioned for the number of people that will be eating. In my case it was two, so everything was the perfect amount for both of us.
First was the fillet steak and blue cheese sauce with rosemary fries.
This meal will soon be the premium offering for Father’s Day this year, and it’s not hard to see why.
The steaks were incredibly tender and of good quality. Preparing the cheese sauce was one of my favorite parts of making it. I also managed to sneak a bit of brie into the sauce for an extra tangy and cheesy kick.
It was accompanied by rosemary fries and sautéed seasonal vegetables which was honestly a treat.
All in all it took about 40 minutes including meal prep before we ate.
I give this HelloFresh meal a strong 9.5 out of 10.
I also tried a perfect contest menu, this time it was a vegetarian menu and I was super happy to hear it would only take 20 minutes.
I tried the creamy pesto pasta, which I think is going to be one of my new favorite summer lunch ideas.
You can add meat or fish to the dish if you like, but I really enjoyed how light I felt after the vegetarian option, which is something I always think about when we’re out and about in the warmer weather.
Simple but effective, this is a meal you can make a large pot of and make for lunch or dinner over the next few days. I also wouldn’t say no to eating it cold the day after.
I would give this meal a strong 8 out of 10.
What I liked most about HelloFresh was how easy it was to do everything from the stats to the finish. Simple recipe cards made prep a lot easier and I didn’t have the nervous feeling in the kitchen that I usually have.
Another reason I loved it is that nothing was wasted. I’m very careful about food waste and HelloFresh made it even easier for me by pre-portioning everything.
