A TEENAGER has revealed how she started her business with £25 locked up – and now it’s worth six figures.

Maisie Crompton, 19, runs Totes for You, a fashion brand that creates t-shirts, hoodies, stationery and slogan prints, with the company now having more than 176,000 followers across TikTok.

But even though Maisie’s company now means she can afford to buy a home – it comes from very humble beginnings, as she explained on a recent occasion. YouTube videotapes.

Speaking in the video, Maisie explains: “During my first session, I had just completed my A-level and was working at Waitrose.

“I got really bored in my spare time and I came up with the idea to start embroidering and it came to me – the tote bag.

“I don’t know how to run a business let alone a successful one

“I started with £25 that I actually got from my grandmother. I bought needles, embroidery hoops, embroidery thread and tote bags for £25 on Amazon. ”

Now she has revealed how she made £12,000 in a day and has loads of orders waiting…plus huge things planned for 2022.

Maisie explained that she’d always loved to sew as a child and that it ‘came naturally’ to her, spending up to three hours hand embroidering each tote bag.

After sharing her journey on TikTok, she launched her first ‘sale’ on Depop as there were no seller fees and the bags sold out within two minutes.

And as orders kept coming in, Maisie struggled to keep up with demand and bought an embroidery machine, meaning she could make a tote bag in ten minutes rather than three hours.

After debuting her website in June, Maisie’s orders continued to grow, raking in over £4,000 in her first month and her following steadily growing.

She said: “In September, I quit my job at the supermarket, which means a lot to me, it’s a mark of what I’ve achieved.

In January of this year, Maisie launched several new product lines, branching out from t-shirts into sweatshirts, hoodies, notebooks, prints and planners – seeing her hit more than 5 kids number per month.

She continued: “Every day, I get between six and 30 orders depending on the day.”

And Maisie explains that the successful business made her reevaluate her entire life plan.

“I was in a gap year. Now that I am living a life of deprivation, I have no plans to go to school in the near future,” she told her followers.

“I’m saving up so I can get a mortgage on a house. I would rather not rent because I find it a waste of money.

“I’m financially stable enough to be able to live somewhere nice, but it’s not money I really want to spend.”
