She is so distressed that she stops at Norwood Arms to feed him, and is horrified after receiving a charge from Britannia Parking.

The company manages the parking lot on behalf of the pub and its owner, the Greene King brewery.

Emily told GloucesterLive “Oakley needed to be fed and he was really screaming. I pulled over to the parking lot to feed it, but also as a safety measure.

“A screaming child in a car is extremely distracting – continuing to drive if you are distracted can be a real risk, so I’m not the only one trying to calm him down. I’m trying to make sure I’m driving safely.

“I was there for 13 minutes, just over three minutes. I paid the fine, £60 if I paid it within two weeks, but I appealed. ”

The parking management company allows a 10-minute extension for those who drop off or pick up people.

But they still decided to fine the young mother, telling her it was her responsibility to make sure she had read the terms and conditions.

However, after ebing contacted the pub, the company canceled her ticket.

In a first letter to mother Britannia Parking said: “We have reviewed your appeal and the comment you have made; combined with any evidence you have provided and the photos we have on file.

“Parking Fee Notice has been issued to your vehicle because a valid ticket has not been purchased.

“It is the driver’s responsibility to ensure that they have read and understood the terms and conditions of use of the car park.

“We give motorists a 10-minute review time upon arrival before signing a ‘parking contract’, which is twice the time recommended by BPA.

“If the driver has not purchased a ticket within this 10-minute period, a Parking Charge Notice will be issued.

‘DISTINGUISH’

“By leaving your vehicle in the parking lot without a valid ticket, you are in breach of the terms and conditions and we therefore believe that the Parking Toll Notice is valid and correctly issued. .”

Emily added: “I understand why the pub needs to make sure it’s a parking lot that isn’t packed with people using it to shop on Bath Road, but I feel like parking in Britannia could be more arbitrary than one. little.

“I want them to think a little bit more why people might have skipped 10 minutes in such a short time.”

A spokesperson for Greene King said: “We have asked Britannia to cancel the ticket in question.

“We charge for parking because some communities want to use the parking lot to reach other businesses, and we want to make sure we prioritize parking for our guests.

“A small fee is installed, but if you eat or drink in the pub, it will be refunded from the bill and guests can register their number plates on the tablet.”
