A DAD fined £650 for driving outside his home challenged the penalties – and won.
Abdul Noormohamed said “justice” had been served after his local council lifted unlawful charges for parking in a restricted area.
The 39-year-old was given five tickets to enter a designated school area limited to certain hours.
But the father lives on his street in Harrow, north-west London – and his car and van are both registered.
The repeated fines meant that Abdul was forced to travel a long way from work to avoid being caught on camera and asked to cough.
And it made him feel like he was “living in a prison” on his own street.
But after complaining to the council and several local MPs, the charges were eventually dropped.
He told that Local Reporting Service for Democracy: “It feels like a huge load has been lifted from my shoulders.
“[The council] still didn’t accept an error, they still forced me to register even though I had already done it, but at least they canceled it.
Though Abdul is personally off the hook, his neighbors are still grappling with similar issues, and it’s wreaking havoc on delivery drivers.

“I would let people come and go all day, but I can’t anymore because they’re afraid of being fined,” he said.
The school street system first came into effect to limit drop-off and pick-up times near schools at peak times.
This came despite reported opposition in the area to other motoring measures such as pop-up bike lanes and low-traffic neighborhoods.
