Molly, who has a neurological condition, was parked in a handicapped space and spilled her coffee as she got out of the car.

She then went to the store to get some wipes to clean up but was stopped by a woman who said “I need to speak to you”.

she said Nottinghamshire Live: “We were leaving and she was standing outside and yelled at me. She said she was filming it to protect me and her – I had no idea what she was talking about.

“I was in tears. It was absolutely horrific. This woman was awful, she yelled at me and was right in my face even when I was crying so hard. I was really overwhelmed by what happened.

“I have a neurological condition, I’m not feeling well at all and it really upset me a lot. I’ve never known anything like it.”

She added: “I find it disgusting what Ashfield District Council has done. This lady told me to shut up – it was so intimidating.

“I’ve never felt so bullied in my life — it was traumatizing.”

Antonio Taylor, Community Safety Manager, said: “Any claims made by residents in relation to law enforcement officers are always investigated.

“Our law enforcement officers help make the district cleaner and safer. We will not tolerate people dropping trash in Ashfield.

“Having a bin that is not nearby is no excuse for dropping or leaving your waste when it can be taken home and disposed of.

“We’re proud of our parks, town centers and open spaces and having invested millions of pounds in them we don’t want a minority to ruin them.

“Now Ashfield Council has secured a huge investment of £62.6million in the Towns Fund, the future is bright and we have ambitious plans to transform our town centres.

“We are committed to making Ashfield a cleaner place to live, work and visit.”
