I was in tears after being threatened by a school run dad about my parking spot – I was just minding my own business

A RUSHED mum on the school run was left in tears after being threatened by a dad over her parking space – but she says she was just minding her own business.
Finding a suitable parking space near a school can be a nightmare, especially during busy times and when a parent is pressed for time.
A woman has confessed to parking on the white lines outside an elementary school when she dropped her son off and ended up getting into a massive argument with another parent.
The mother, who could not be identified, visited Mumsnet’s Am I Being Unreasonable forum to share her story.
She wrote: “In front of my son’s elementary school parking is a nightmare, near the front gate there are some white lines where people shouldn’t park but many do because parking is a nightmare / people are rushing etc. “
The mum added: “I’ve parked here a couple of times when I was in a hurry but never when someone is walking next to the lines on the pavement.
“Today I was in a hurry to pick up my son and come home for a work meeting and parked here. No one was around, didn’t step on the sidewalk, all safe.”
However, she said that as she got into the car, one of the school’s dads approached her and made “a huge attempt” on her for parking on the lines.
He is said to have threatened to “tell me that if his child is beaten, he will come for me”.
She claimed he was “aggressive” and “persuaded” her.
The mother added that he would not let her speak and “kept raising his hand whenever I spoke”.
She then pointed out that another man was parked on the tracks directly behind her, but he hadn’t said a word to him.
The mum continued in her post: “Now I fully understand that I shouldn’t have been parked there, but let’s face it, we are all human and we’ve all done something like this or something similar from time to time.
“Personally, I just mind my own business and let people get on with things. I would only ever say something to someone if I genuinely believe a child’s life is in danger.
“I’m a very careful driver and would never park there if there was someone nearby who could possibly go out etc.”
Admitting she “cried” because she felt so “humiliated,” she added, “It also really bothered me that he chose to target a woman alone and not the man in the picture.” confronting the car behind me and doing the exact same thing as me.
“It was very embarrassing, all the parents were looking over at him when they came home from school and he just wouldn’t let me talk at all. I never got into confrontations with anyone and for some reason I can’t stop thinking about it.”
While many commenters agreed she was wrong for parking on the lines, they said the man was also wrong for being “aggressive”.
One person wrote: “You know you shouldn’t have parked there so you know you’re being unreasonable no matter who confronted you about it and who didn’t.”
Another said: “You shouldn’t have parked there. That’s all there is to it. The lines are there for a reason.”

A third person added: “You shouldn’t have parked there – everyone who does has some kind of excuse as to why they do it. It doesn’t make it okay. It is selfish and legitimate behavior.
“He sounds awkward and like a bully, but his behavior doesn’t excuse yours. Just get organized so you don’t park where you shouldn’t.”
