I was sent a dangerous WhatsApp scam message – don’t fall for this sinister trick

WHATSAPP users have been warned of a shady message making the rounds, which is being used by hackers to take control of your account.
Scammers pose as WhatsApp support and pretend that you need to send them a code to prove you’re real.
They threaten it forbid you by WhatsApp if you don’t do it to scare people into making a hasty decision.
But actually, the code allows them to get access to your account and do whatever they want.
cheater could use it to find information or message friends and family to get them to part with money.
Fahad Malik uncovered the ruse Twitterand said: “A lot of people I know have received this message in the last 24 hours.


“This is total scam, as soon as you enter your code your whatsapp is hacked and they get access to it.
“IT’S FAKE AND SCAM! DO NOT GIVE YOUR WHATSAPP CODE TO ANYONE.”
The message claims to be automated and says “Your WhatsApp account has been reported as ‘suspicious'”.
“If you disregard this requirement, your account will be blocked immediately,” he threatens.
Not only should such a strange request be a red flag to everyone, there are other signs that this is all a big scam.
Notable are the numerous spelling mistakes that would not occur in an official message.


WhatsappOfficial accounts also have a badge next to the profile name – this one doesn’t, so you’ll know right away not to trust it.
If you see it, report and block the number, and most importantly, don’t reply.
