She said: “When we took the plunge to try it, we were surprised that it took a year, which is longer than the normal timeframe that’s expected.

“Doctors did some initial blood tests but there was no reason we couldn’t get pregnant. We ate healthy and felt good overall, and I took a general pregnancy Complement.

“We considered IVF but first wanted to do our part to make sure we did everything we could to improve our chances, so we decided to extend it for another six months.”

Sophie spent £500 on the fertility kit and says it helped her discover ways in which her body’s nutrient levels were affecting her ability to conceive and make changes in her daily life.

She continued, “We started the ScreenMe journey with a pre-conception pack for couples and at one month I was pregnant.

“ScreenMe offered us a variety of support services to help us identify the areas of our lives that may be impacting our fertility.

The NHS has not been able to offer the same level of comprehensive testing as ScreenMe, including comprehensive hormones, nutrients, health markers and gut and vaginal microbiome testing.

The mother added: “ Had I not known the state of my gut microbiome and the status of our nutrient levels, health markers, and the impact of our lifestyle on my ability to conceive and raise a healthy baby, I believe we would still be trying to figure out why I can not get pregnant and would have undergone a treatment like IVF without preparing my body.

“The process was so simple and non-invasive and has improved our overall health based on solid scientific evidence. I give our baby the best start in life and reduce the chance of non-communicable diseases for both the baby and myself after birth. “

ScreenMe was set up by dr Golnoush Golshirazi, Cambridge University graduate, who has had extreme pain before and during menstruation all her life.
