Jessica said surgeons underestimate the risks associated with the procedure, which can include decreased genital sensitivity, scar tissue and infection.

As with any surgery, there is a risk of a blood clot in the vein and an allergic reaction to the anesthetic.

Since her experience, Jessica has published a complete anatomy of the clitoris in the medical literature.

She initially continued to describe her ordeal Redditwhere she also asked other women with similar studies to get in touch.

She also published a study in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal.

It describes how the dorsal nerves in the clitoris are larger than previously thought and that knowledge of these nerves should be emphasized before performing any surgery near the clitoris.
