“I was the other woman – now we’re married and I’ve become his ex’s best friend”

Relationships can be complicated at times, and while you can’t necessarily help yourself who you discover feelings for, it can make things messy when you end up falling in love with one of your friend’s partners.

This is exactly the situation a woman finds herself in tick tock found herself in it when she started dating a guy named Josh at school – while he was dating a woman named Alesha, who would later become her best friend.

Alexis Mounsey, who is from the USA, explained that Josh and Alesha were in a relationship throughout high school and when Alexis met Josh they hit it off immediately which led to them having an affair behind Alesha’s back.

While Josh was dating Alesha, the couple welcomed a daughter named Riley, but they later broke up and Josh pursued a relationship with Alexis, who he is now married to.

In a video about her @lexismoun Account, the woman said: “This TikTok started because I wanted to show people that it’s possible to overcome the past and that you can become friends while being parents together.

“Alesha and Josh — Josh is my husband — they were together in high school. Josh and I met around the time they started dating and we became friends very quickly.

“Josh cheated on Alesha with me here and there during high school, and then Josh and I got back together after we broke up.

“There were still loose ends and what not, and they created Riley when Josh and I first got together. So the past was messy!”

Alexis is now helping co-parent Josh and Alesha’s daughter, and she’s created her TikTok account to share her unique family journey with people online.

The woman also insisted in a follow-up video that she didn’t befriend Alesha until after she broke up with Josh – and claimed she had no idea Josh was in a relationship when the cheating occurred.

She said: “I was in high school. It doesn’t make it any better, but in high school I didn’t care. I liked who I wanted to like and if they tell me they don’t I don’t have a girlfriend and she didn’t go to our school at the time either [I’m going to believe him].

“Was it wrong? Yes. Do I feel bad about it now? Yes, because I love her now and she is my best friend. But other than that, I don’t feel bad because our life wouldn’t be the way it is now, and I love our life.”

Alexis has been accused by malicious online trolls of ‘stealing’ her best friend’s boyfriend, but most of the comments the woman gets are from people sympathetic to her story – as everyone makes mistakes, especially when they’re young .

One person said, “I made so many mistakes as a teenager/young adult… Mistakes are part of life, our mistakes don’t define us.”

While another added: “It happens that you were young. Like we all didn’t do things back then, come on guys.”

“Everybody makes mistakes. But people grow. Anyone who says their life is perfect is lying. But we all live and learn,” commented another.
