Ice dance star Stef Reid is smiling as she tries to do a scary header

To exclude, to expel:

Dancing on Ice is expected to be full of drama this weekend as paralympic athlete Stef Reid and her dance partner Andy Buchanan will perform live nail-biting on the ice.

Dancing On Ice star Stef Reid is set to perform the most dangerous scene in the series to date – the terrifying headshot.

The paralympian has been training all week perfecting the move – which will see her spin with her head just inches above the ice.

As our exclusive photos show, she did it with a smile on her face.

But speaking before the show this Sunday, Stef, 37, admitted: “I didn’t know what I was getting into when I said yes.

“The first time we did it, I was definitely a bit surprised by how strong the g-forces are.”

Professional skating partner Andy Buchanan described it as a “real challenge”.

He added: “Normally we would take off with the other foot but this way Stef is facing the opposite direction from what she normally does.

“So it creates a lot of different movements in the headbanger.

“It was really hard for me to figure out how to teach her and stop the rotation just to be safe. It actually turned out to be a lot harder than I initially expected.

Runner-up Stef, 37, added: “I wanted to go as far as I could in the competition.

“This has been the hardest year ever and if I let this go, I’ll walk away knowing I’ve done all I can.”

Co-host Holly Willoughby is unlikely to watch, after admitting “I can’t stand it. I absolutely hate it. I’ve never watched a live session. ”

Stef was smiling as she practiced the stunt with her partner Andy

It comes after Stef left her Instagram followers behind on Saturday morning when she shared a video of herself and Andy doing the move.

Taking to Instagram, Stef captioned the clip: “How to keep a helmet safe!” And it’s definitely not for the faint-hearted.

Stef’s Dancing on Ice co-stars were quick to comment on the video, with Sally Dynevor writing: “Wow Stef, this is amazing.”

Liberty Poole simply commented, “Yes, Stef,” followed by a heart-shaped emoji, and one fan added: “You guys are brilliant.”

Dancing on Ice continues Sunday at 18:30 on ITV and ITV Hub.
