IFA top executives didn’t deserve hefty raises

On the day that Teagasc cut projected farm incomes due to input inflation — and with many of the IFA’s levy-paying members facing significant cuts to their farm payments — the IFA announced pay increases for its president, vice president and general manager.

Many changes have been imposed on the organization since autumn 2015, when an internal split led to the resignation of Eddie Downey, one of the most progressive presidents Irish farmers have ever had.
