Before you start trimming, waxing or threading, outline your brows with an eyebrow pencil.

This will remind you when you are shaping your brows not to go inside the pencil area and just to tidy what is outside of the pencil shape.

Also, always stand back before plucking, standing too close to a mirror doesn’t allow you to see your entire face and can cause you to over-pluck your brows.

Rule number one

Eyebrows are always uneven, it’s nearly impossible to have both perfectly symmetrical – but we’ll try!

To make them as even as possible, we recommend measuring your eyebrows relative to the rest of your facial features.

Each eyebrow usually begins to line up with the sides of your nose.

If you place the ruler next to each nostril and go up to the eyebrow, you will see the starting point of the eyebrow.

If you hold the ruler again diagonally just past the outer corner of your eye, this is where your brows will end.

Work with what you have

Remember to always follow your natural arch.

This will really help accentuate your natural features. Your natural arch should be the location of your brow bone.

You can choose a softer, more rounded, or flatter (straight) arch. This should be determined by the natural direction of your hair growth

If you wear makeup, adding a little highlighter just below the brow bone will also help accentuate your natural curves.

Don’t have happiness gap

Another common mistake is making the distance between your eyebrows too far apart.

Before removing the hair, use an eyeliner pencil to mark your guide on where to start your brows.

This will prevent you from waxing through the pencil line.

Do not pluck or remove too much at once. Remove a few hairs and then stand in front of the mirror and assess if you need more removal.

Remember, once deleted, it cannot be returned.

Get the right shade

Your eyebrows should be a natural facial feature – you I don’t want to accidentally go too dark for your skin.

Avoid pressing too hard with an eyebrow pencil or powder brush.

Instead, gently follow the natural direction of your hair and create fine strokes to fill in the sparse areas, then use eyebrow gel to create style.

When it comes to color, you should stick to only half lighter than your natural hair color.

This can be difficult to do at home, so it’s a good idea to see a brow specialist at the salon to get the perfect shade.

However, not everyone wants the natural look they want – like this the woman shaves her beard to pull them back in a unique style.

It's important to mix colors and get the right shade when coloring or using pencil or powder
