IF YOU enjoy skin care, chances are you do your routine at the end of the day, when you’re getting ready for bed, right?
Well, we have news for you…
It turns out that you shouldn’t be doing your skincare routine right before bed, and in fact, you should at least 1-2 hours before that.
Amber Gin, an esthetician with 51.6k followers on TikTok has revealed the mistake we all make with our skin care routine.
She posted her video with the caption ‘Simple skin care tip that not many of us know and do. Do you know about it? ‘.
“One skin care tip can change your life,” she says.
“Apply your skin care products an hour or two before bed, or your expensive skincare products will end up in your bed.”
Not only will your favorite skin care products drift straight into your pillow if you do it right before bed, but they also won’t allow the products to absorb properly into your skin.
Gin’s video has obviously gained a lot of attention as it quickly hit 60k views.
It has 1,629 likes, 76 comments and 24 shares.
One said: “It totally makes sense! I did it right before so now I do it sooner… thanks for the tip! ”

Skinkraft Some experts say the best time for your nighttime skincare routine is right before bed. However, you can use more moisturizer on your pillow than on your face. Skin needs at least 10-20 minutes for the products to be properly absorbed into the skin.
“So, ideally, you should use makeup remover as soon as you get home. Do this by washing your face thoroughly. You can then use your serum, toner, eye gel, and moisturizer in between housework and dinner.
“This way, you ensure a complete skincare routine and provide your skin with all the nutrients it needs throughout the night.”
