I’m A Celebrity: Ant & Dec say they hope they’ll return to the jungle
The I’m A Celebrity cast for 2022 could include some epic names on the list if rumors are to come – although there’s no confirmation yet.
After hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly revealed their hopes of returning to Australia, after two years of filming in Wales, ITV appeared to confirm this was the goal.
But now, The Mirror can exclusively reveal that there is a backup plan in place should the return to the woods be thwarted again due to the coronavirus pandemic.
A new pre-recorded I’m A Celeb series will be filmed in South Africa. The series will be shown in November, if plans to shoot the series live in Australia are approved, or kept under wraps for airing early next year.
Here’s who we can expect to see in the jungle or the back-up series before ITV updates viewers…

EastEnders actor Danny Dyer, who played Mick Carter on the BBC, is leaving the show at the end of the year.
The now-popular actor has signed up for the jungle series, with it being reported earlier this year that bosses wanted to offer him big bucks to join.
“The producers thought Danny would be great in the movie and their number one target,” a source said Sun.
“They hope he’ll finish in time, they’ll definitely get a big money offer.”
The bookies are also backing Danny to be the top paying star of the upcoming season, and last month he was at 5/1 on the show.
Tom Daley
Olympian Tom Daley has long been rumored to be a contestant on the show, while his diving teammate Matty Lee was involved in the final series.
Recent odds have once again suggested that Tom will be in the upcoming series before names are confirmed.
Earlier this year it was reported that ITV bosses were in a fight with Seriously Coming to Dancing, as both the BBC and ITV were keen to sign up divers for their programmes.
A source said: “There is a race to keep Tom safe – both broadcasters know he will be loved by viewers.
“Strict bosses feel certain he will stay in the competition until very near the end, if not the final – while ITV feels he would be the perfect fit to join those other famous in the forest.
“Tom has a wide but very popular fan base with ages ranging from 16 to 24, which both the BBC and ITV want to keep following their programmes.”
Peter Crouch
Peter Crouch is another name that often gets thrown into the fray because I’m a celebrity in the camp.
The former professional footballer who was listed on the odds as recently as last month, along with Tom and Danny, will be announced as 2022 contestants.
William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny said: “We may still have a fair amount to go at the start of the show, but rumors are already rife about who will put pen to paper for a jungle return Australia this year for I’m A Celeb.
“We put Danny Dyer as the 5/1 favorite, although the likes of Peter Crouch (January 7), Mike Dean (January 8) and Matt Hancock (January 16) were all cited, we can give one of the best lineups the popular show has ever seen.”
I Am A Celebrity will be back later this year on ITV.
