A NEW pub has opened in Sussex by one of the stars of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

Lady C, real name Lady Colin Campbell, starred on the hit reality show in 2015 – she left the series midway through the series for medical reasons.

The author, socialite and television personality has reopened Roots Bar in Worthing, close to her home in Castle Goring.

The 72-year-old said the bar’s name was meant to represent a fresh start while also commemorating her childhood in Jamaica.

The reality star said becoming an innkeeper has been full of new experiences.

“It’s my first time pouring myself a pint,” she said. “It was fun. I didn’t know it squirted so much.”

She said she wanted to make her customers feel welcome after taking over the pub and drastically changing the decor.

“It used to be a heavy metal bar,” she said. “It was very dark and black inside.

“I think a place should be elegant, enticing and make you feel welcome.”

Her son Misha, 29, said he wanted to bring a bit of West End class to West Sussex with the facility designed to look like their family home in London.

Lady C raised the money to buy the bar in November last year and Mischa said he worked on setting it up himself.

“Roots is about building from the ground up, and that’s what we’re about,” he said.

Lady C added: “I very much agree. I bought all the pictures for the walls because I love doing things like that.”
