THE rich and famous are known to get up and running in hotel rooms – TVs have been thrown out windows almost since they were invented.
A concierge has now added fuel to the fire by throwing dirt on the VIP guests who have stayed at the five-star hotel where he works.
Reddit user u/Rinsetheplates_first opened the forum and answered questions about the hotel guests he had to endure while working.
When someone asked what was the worst thing they’d seen in a celebrity, he replied: “A couple paid to live in two separate rooms.
“The excuse he gave me was that his wife snored … in the two nights they were there I ushered three different women into his room, all at least half his age.”
When asked if he’s ever been asked to source drugs for celebrities, he replied
He replied: “No, I’ve never been asked in person, but once I saw a sachet of white powder falling out [a celeb’s] Bag.”
“They didn’t notice and I didn’t know what to do. When he turned around I just said, ‘I think you dropped that’ – a little awkwardly.”
And while he’d never done anything illegal himself to help a guest, he’d witnessed a few rich people break the rules.
He said: “Some of our more affluent guests arrive at the nearby airport via their private jet or helicopter. We pick you up.
“Of course airports have certain rules in terms of security and passport control, but 90 percent of the pickups I’ve made we drive straight from the airport without a security check.”
It’s not just the front desk clerks who have to put up with the rich and famous, the Reddit user explained that the cleaning staff had a tough deal to clean up after them.
“A guest tried to attach a sex swing to the ceiling”
He said: “After a certain guest checked out, housekeeping found that their room had half the ceiling on the floor. Turns out they were trying to anchor a sex swing to the plaster.”
But he also revealed that working for celebrities could be very lucrative. He said his biggest tip is “£200 for a 10-minute walk with his dog”.
Incredibly discreet, he only broke his naming ban to show how nice magician and illusionist Derren Braun was.
Someone asked him, “Are there any particular celebrities who were particularly nice and easy-going?”
He replied: “To be honest, most of them – it’s very rare that you get a diva. However, TV personalities are generally nicer than pop stars.
“The nicest guy I ever met was Derren Brown.”
He concluded that celebs were generally nicer than he expected and that the worst were the people who bordered on rich.
He said: “By and large, famous people were a lot nicer than I thought. Someone asked me if the nearly rich are worse than the rich, and they really are.”
Meanwhile, a hotel owner has revealed how guests can get one free upgrade to your room – but warns against being greedy.
