I’m a flight attendant and is there an easy way to get free drinks from us

Battling the airport check-in and security lines these days requires superhuman strength, so a tip on the flight is well-deserved.
But if the small bottle of wine isn’t quite enough, there’s a way to grab an extra drink — but it comes down to good manners and how busy the flight is.

A flight attendant revealed on Reddit all about the rules cabin crew have when it comes to handing out free alcohol on a flight.
The crew member who anonymously spilled the beans said: “Flight attendants are usually allowed to give alcohol to passengers whenever they want.
“You’re much more likely to get free drinks if the flight isn’t full, so always be polite and friendly to staff.
“When your flight is full, it’s very difficult to compensate one person without everyone wanting free stuff.”
How you dress for a flight can also affect the level of service you receive or secure extra drinks.
A JetBlue flight attendant, who also remained anonymous, recently told The Points Guy that wearing smart clothes is one of the best ways to get extra perks when flying.
They said: “Presentation is important. I’m not saying that you board Mint or another airline’s premium cabin just because you’re dressed. That’s a myth.
“However, you can control how you are perceived and how you present yourself. Well-behaved passengers increase their chances that the beverage cart will stop at their seat a few times longer when they are thirsty.”
Meanwhile, another flight attendant has revealed what a passenger’s drink order says about her.
Former cabin crew member Kat Kamalani shared a Tiktok video explaining that Diet Coke drinkers were the least popular with flight attendants.
The dislike stems from the fact that it takes too long to pour Diet Coke, as the bubbles specific to this drink foam more due to the cabin pressure.
The cabin crew have also come up with a clever way to order alcohol that isn’t on the menu – and you might be able to get your favorite drink.
You just need to know what to ask for as she revealed how easy it is to make your own onboard cocktail.

Rach Sullivan shared a video on Tiktok of her mixing alcohol and juice to create a cocktail.
So if you know there’s a cocktail you like that’s not on the menu, you can order the ingredients and make them yourself.
