“All you have to do is ask.”

The advice went viral thanks to a TikToker who put it on list similar tips, tricks and tricks from former store employees.

Some people also claim to work at Home Depot having verified the trick, but warn against using it.

“I used to work at Home Depot.

“We CAN but don’t have to.

“If I didn’t like you, I wouldn’t change the price of anything,” admitted one.

“I gave discounts to many sweet and understanding clients while I worked at Home Depot; If they’re rude, I’ll act like there’s nothing I can do about it,” commented another former employee in a similar mood.

Others warn that there needs to be a reason to reduce such a large amount to the fare, such as product damage, severe inconvenience to customers or competitor stores offering. offer the same item at a lower price.

However, one user said she is happy to help anyone.

“I worked at Home Depot and I’ll give you $50 off anyone who asks for it lol because these companies don’t care about you,” they said.

A representative from Home Depot’s corporate communications office responded to this advice in a statement to The Sun and said it was not “completely accurate”.

“While associates are empowered to take care of our customers and provide the best customer service, price adjustments are still made on a case-by-case basis,” they explain.

The popular TikTok, which has been viewed 1.7 million times and continues to grow, also shared a tweet claiming people can save money buying fruit at Publix.

Screenshot of a tweet written by @ ExcuseMeRants2 read: “Instead of buying chopped pineapple, you can buy a whole pineapple and take it to a snack shop and they will cut it for you, saving you some money.”

The tweet notes that a Publix employee leaked the information initially.

And in a reply to the tweet, the user claimed it worked multiple times.

Plus, it has been verified by other Publix employees.

“Can confirm this,” commented one TikToker who claims to have worked on Publix production for two years.

“All you have to do is ask.”

However, another former Publix worker recommends that people only buy pre-cut fruit.

“As a former production employee, if a customer brought in a whole pineapple to cut, when we had cut the pineapple that I had washed, cut, packed and labeled, I would be ASKED, ” she said on Twitter.

The Sun has contacted Publix to verify the tweet.
