The bag of complimentary hotel breakfasts is one of the best parts of spending a night away.
But the complacency you usually feel when you get a free meal is about to disappear as a hotel employee revealed that guests are often tricked into the first meal of the day.
A Tiktok user with a handle @ khammer123 shared a video showing breakfast cereal available at a hotel.
He feeds three Kellogg’s cereals in plastic dispensers that each have a sticker that says what’s inside – Bran Raisins, Froot Loops and Frosted Flakes.
The dispenser even has a red Kellogg’s logo on the dial and says Kellogg’s on the plastic stand.
The Tiktok user said: “Just looking at these beautifully named branded cereals, there’s nothing to see here.”
He then walked into a locker to reveal the actual packaging the cereal was in, all without a label.
He said: “They cappin [lying] for you. There are no named brands, it’s all fake. Don’t trust anyone. “
The video has been viewed 686,000 times and viewers have mixed reactions to the revelation.
One person wrote: “Same thing, made in the same factory, just in different packaging”.
Another way: “It’s the same – all you’re paying is the brand [name]”, and another wrote: “It tastes the same. “
The fourth wrote: “It’s cereal. Who gives like *** in a fancy continental breakfast.”
Others were unhappy about what they had seen and deemed false advertising unacceptable.
One person wrote: “This is not okay”, and another said: “Everything at the hotel is fake, EVERYTHING.”
Another shared their concern about the risk of an allergic reaction to a mislabeled product.
They say: “I’m not familiar with brands and brands but if they use different ingredients, this can be really dangerous.”
