IF you’ve ever enjoyed an Egg McMuffin or Egg Bacon and Cheesecake from McDonald’s, you know how satisfying their breakfast can be.
But there is one key difference between these two dishes: the type of eggs they use.
While Egg McMuffin uses “round eggs”, while Bacon Egg and Cheese Muffin use “folded eggs”.
Post to TikTok account @EssentialMcDonalds, one man revealed how to prepare both types of eggs and everyone was horrified by the folding method.
“The scrambled eggs,” he began, “are pre-cooked.”
He handed over a sealed package of a dozen ripe, golden eggs.
“All we did was throw them on the grill, arrange them neatly, put some water in it, and then cook them again.”
After letting them heat up for a few minutes, he scooped them into a tray and said they were done.
Next, he moved on to round eggs.
Thankfully, this method uses fresh, uncooked eggs like the ones you buy at the grocery store.
“They are cooked fresh every day, aka fresh crackers.”
He broke each egg into a small ring-shaped mold on the grill and then used a tool to beat the yolks one by one.
After covering the grill, he poured water on top for extra steaming.
When they were cooked, he scooped them out onto a tray.
Most viewers are quite disgusted with the first formula:
“Well, for now I will just order round eggs. One writer.
“Okay, basically nothing with the folded egg,” added a second.
However, a few said they still chose the prepackaged style:
“The folded egg wins every time. I don’t care that it’s already made. So do 95% of all food products in fast food restaurants,” one person argued.
“Still prefer the square ones. I have eaten eggshells too many times already,” another said.
