A NEW mom reveals she’s been adding too many unnecessary things to her baby’s registry to the point of waste.
To help others do the same, she shared four items she’d like parents to remove from their registry right now.
“Number one is a warmer mop,” said the mother, who visits online @lovefranceschie, at the top of her head. videotapes.
“You won’t use it. I promise you.
“Maybe for the first month and two because your baby will cry over the cold washcloth for two or three seconds, but after that, he doesn’t care that the washcloth is room temperature.
“Get it off the register,” she demanded.
Second, she advises against buying a changing table and possibly buying a $10 changing mat instead.
“Let me ask you: Do you really want to go to a particular room to change your baby?
“No. You know what I did?
“Change the baby on the couch.
“Change the baby in bed.
“Change the baby on the floor,” she explained.
In a second videotapes, she insists the bottle sterilizer is also a waste of money.
“Do you know what a bottle sterilizer is? Cooking pot.
“A pot of boiling water,” she said, proving her point.
Instead, she says you can simply put water in any pot you own and bring it to a boil.
Finally, the mother said that baby laundry detergent was unnecessary.
“It’s 2022. There’s just too much research and knowledge to still be able to use this.
“Get rid of chemicals for the whole family and switch to a cleaner that works for everyone,” she advises.
“It’s no use.”
As she says, there are dozens of articles a quick Google search turns up about chemicals to avoid in baby cleaners, with one parenting site even stating claim that all “mainstream brands are definitely not safe for babies”.
She says she loves Seventh Generation’s fragrance-free cleanser because it’s gentle on skin and “works wonders.”
This mom’s video has clearly resonated with viewers, as some moms commented that they learned a similar lesson when they had their first child.
“I agree with detergent.
“And almost every dishwasher has a sterilizer setting.
“Wash and steam your baby,” one user wrote.
“Exactly. … Where were you 2 years ago woman?” another commented with a laughing emoji.
However, a third satisfied viewer wrote: “The warmer is collecting dust lol.”
This mom is among those trying to share parenting tips and tricks online to help others navigate parenting.
For example, a mother shared the strategy she uses to get what she wants all the time, even as her kids talk back.
Another revealed that she had been trying to create a system that would allow her children to snack without any help from her.
