Keeping a family supplied with food and water can be an expensive task.
But for mother of 10 Alicia Dougherty, grocery bills can hit four figures.
Alicia took to TikTok to share a video of herself and her daughter grocery shopping, with the pair hitting BJ’s Wholesale Club store.
“We need tissues and toilet paper,” she began, adding that she also picked up a few birthday presents for one of her 10 children.
As well as bottled water and other beverages, she has a cart full of fresh produce, including satsumas, grapes, apples, celery, salads and avocados.
Then, to the dairy section, where she picked up six packs of grated cheese, string cheese, and cream cheese, as well as a whole bunch of yogurt.
The chicken noodle soup that Alicia “really enjoyed” was also on the trolley, along with products from the frozen aisle.
Next was meat, and among those bought were minced beef, pepperoni, sausage, and bacon.
As a busy mom, Alicia does a lot of baking and has to stock up on some baking ingredients for the trip – including a giant bag of granulated sugar.
Canned goods and snacks ended the shopping trip, with the couple forced to order all their purchases through the self-checkout store as it was the only store open.
And the cost of shipping groceries?
An incredible $1,007.
Even so, Alicia admits that the store doesn’t have everything she wants, so she will have to “go to another store tomorrow to buy the rest”.
“$1000 for groceries and it still doesn’t have what you need,” one person commented on the video.
Others claimed the total bill for 99 items was cheap, with one piece saying: “$1,007 for 99 items? That’s awesome. I wish it was that cheap here.”
In other parenting news, this mom took to TikTok to reveal her horrific failure, after celebrating her son’s birthday on the wrong day for two years.
