The mother-of-six and motivational speaker Chauvon Landry has shared her top tip for making sure her kids are safe from people they don’t know – and wants other parents to know the tactic
Parents will always worry about their children, although most will agree – you can’t keep an eye on them all the time.
That’s why it’s so important for parents to teach their little ones how to protect themselves and pass on valuable lessons they can one day teach their own children.
Parents teach their children all sorts of tactics to keep them safe, including running to a trusted adult when they’re scared and not engaging with strangers.
A mum-of-six who works as a motivational speaker has shared her top tip for making sure her kids are safe — and she thinks others should use the same tactic.

Chauvon Landry, who posts on TikTok under the name @thelandryfamily504, said she’s teaching her kids an important “survival tactic” that’s a little more colorful than tips we’ve heard in the past.
Chauvon admitted she hopes her own children “never have to use the tactic” but that it “could save your child’s life.”
In the video, she said: “I taught them not to just scream if someone tried to kidnap them or pull them away from their family.
“I need them to yell every single swear word they can think of.
“Because, think about it – if you’re in a playground or something and you hear a kid screaming, it’s not really worrying for you.
“But if you hear a kid yell every single swear word, you’re going to stop mid-conversation and say, ‘Wait,’ and see what’s going on with that kid.”
Chauvon added the tactic will show strangers that the child “doesn’t belong with that person” and that they are “calling for help.”
Many other parents commented on Chauvon’s video to thank her for the helpful tip that they thought inspired.
One mum wrote: “Perfect tip! I will definitely teach my babies that, thanks.”
Another said: “That’s good! Hopefully like you said they never have to use it!”
Other parents joked that their children would be more than happy to use this tactic if it allowed them to swear without getting into trouble.
One mother said: “My child would secretly wait for the day to come.”
Another said: “My kid would say, ‘Well it’s my time to shine’.”
