They reviewed a specific hack published by @thehewickshome on tik tok.
The expert commented: “I would not use or recommend shaving gel as a quick fix for car upholstery cleaning.
“Shaving gel is specifically designed to not shave with anything else.
“Repeated use of shaving gel on fabric can cause stains due to the mineral oils in the product, and mineral oil stains are some of the most difficult to remove.
“If you have high quality car upholstery, shaving cream can cause both discoloration and irreparable damage.”
The expert shared tips on what to use to clean your car’s interior.
baking soda
Baking soda is a great deodorant.
If you have an unpleasant smelling area on your seats, sprinkle baking soda liberally on the area and leave overnight before vacuuming 24 hours later.
Air freshening spray
While air fresheners in your air vents minimize interior odors, targeted application of your car’s air intake system can keep your car smelling nice.
Spray the large vents at the base of your windshield with an odor remover, then turn on the air conditioning for a few minutes.
Silicone bottle brushes
You don’t want to cause scratches by scrubbing too hard.
Drivers should avoid coarse scouring pads and instead use soft silicone cleaning brushes.
Paint brush
Dip a small brush in soapy water, shake off the excess and brush the areas to be cleaned.
Rinse the brush thoroughly and repeat the process.

Like silicone brushes, a brush reaches hard-to-reach places and is gentle on all surfaces.
cotton swab
Dip a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol and gently run it around small interior car parts like knobs, shifters, and knobs to really make them shine.
