Fat is a big problem in the UK and around two-thirds of adults are above normal weight, and half of these are obese.

An expert has revealed how you can start your weight loss journey with delicious foods that help burn belly fat.

Getting rid of belly fat, or visceral fat, is key to health.

Michael Mosley, creator of the Fast 800 and 5:2 diets, says a low-carbohydrate and high-protein diet is a great place to start.

It is important that if you are starting any new type of diet plan, you must consult your doctor.

As part of his diet plan, Dr. Mosley says that adults should consume at least 60g of protein per day.

If you’re trying to lose weight, Dr. Mosley says you should consider increasing your intake.

The NHS says that proteins such as meat, eggs, fish and beans are all good sources of protein and are needed by the body to grow and repair itself.

For example, an average egg contains about 13g of protein, with 100g of chicken breast containing 31g.

Dr Mosley says that people who eat less than 60g of protein per day can harm their metabolic rate.

Your metabolic rate is key to weight loss because it is the number of calories you burn as your body performs its basic life-sustaining function.

“Your body will eat your muscles and your metabolic rate will go down,” he explains.

In addition to making sure you’re getting enough protein in your diet, Dr. Mosley is an advocate of the Mediterranean diet.

This diet focuses on foods that are good for you and low in foods that are high in content sugar content.

The NHS explains: “The Mediterranean diet varies by country and region, so it has a range of definitions.

The best ways to treat obesity

If you’re concerned about your weight, the NHS says you can take some steps to help your health and well-being.

  • Join a local weight loss group
  • participate in activities such as swimming, walking or jogging. You should work 150 to 300 minutes a week – that’s 2.5 to five hours a week

“But in general, it’s high in vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts, beans, whole grains, fish, and unsaturated fats like olive oil.

“It usually includes a low amount of meat and dairy foods.”

“The availability and cheapness of modern industrially processed foods today is often the reason why many people develop type 2 diabetes, joint problems, sleep apnea and many more,” said Dr. Mosley. more.

“Not only that, visceral fat puts a heavy strain on the organs and if not eliminated in time can lead to very dangerous consequences.

“A Mediterranean-style diet can change this without feeling like a diet you’d normally want to give up.”

Studies have shown that the Mediterranean diet can help you lose weight and lower your cholesterol levels.

It may also help reverse or reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes and help fight heart disease and stroke.

As with any diet, it is important that you do not completely cut out any one food group as each food group provides our bodies with beneficial nutrients.

The NHS says if you need to lose weight, 1-2 lbs per week is safe. You should be able to reduce this amount if you eat and drink about 500 to 600 fewer calories than you need.
