A TIKTOK tech expert has shared a quick and easy way to improve your WhatsApp messaging.

In one videotapes posted on Thursday, user @stuniiapp highlighted how you can change your font with hidden keyboard shortcuts.

How to bold WhatsApp text

Bold text is a great way to emphasize a word or phrase: bold.

It can also make a message stand out, which can be useful in group chats.

All you need to do is put an asterisk on either side of the word or phrase you’re trying to highlight, like this: *text here*

That will make your message appear bold to you and to others who see it.

How to make WhatsApp text italic

Similarly, it is also possible to skew WhatsApp messages, which is good for emphasis: italics.

It works exactly like the bold trick, but uses different symbols.

You need to put underscores on either side of the word or phrase you’re trying to edit, like this: _text going here_

How to do WhatsApp text strikethrough

Dash features draw a line through your text: strikethrough.

It is often used to denote that something is wrong or needs to be ignored.

To get a dash, put a tilde (that’s the scribble symbol) on either side of your message, like this: ~text here~

But here’s one thing you can’t do…

Sadly it’s not possible to underline text on WhatsApp:underline.

The company simply hasn’t added the feature yet, which means you’ll have to settle for other formatting methods instead.
