A CLEVER iPhone trick vastly improves one of its best features: timers.
You can set timers very quickly if you know how.
Normally you would set timers by going into the clock app.
But you can actually do them quickly from Control Center.
To set it up, go to Settings > Control Center and make sure the timer has been added.
Now, in Control Center, swipe down from the top-right corner on a Face ID model, or bottom-up on a Touch ID iPhone.
Now tap and hold the timer icon and then drag the slider up and down to quickly set a timer.
It goes even faster with Siri, of course.
Just say “Hey Siri, set a timer for,” then choose a time period.
This is very practical – especially when your hands are not free, such as when cooking.
But there’s a second element to this trick – and it’s about iOS 16.
This is the next major software update for Apple iPhones, which is expected to come out in September this year.
But the iOS 16 public beta starts this month – learn how to participate here.
Once you’re on iOS 16, you can use timers even smarter.
The trick was revealed by the TikTok tech expert @markdx_in a clip that has earned thousands of likes.
When you set a timer, go to the lock screen and it will appear as a widget at the bottom there.
You can then pause or cancel the timer right from the lock screen.
