That iPhone Feature protects your online activity from ISPs and other websites.

Gadget expert and TikTok star @letsdodiz recently highlighted the feature on its site.

It works like a VPN service to block companies like Facebook or certain retail websites from tracking you online.

Your IP address will be hidden and all Safari activities will be masked.

This is important, especially if you’re using public WiFi that may not be secure.

So if you ever use WiFi in an airport, coffee shop, or hotel, you’ll definitely want Private Relay enabled.

How to Enable iPhone Private Relay

You need to make sure your device is updated to iOS 15, iPadOS 15 or macOS.

First, make sure you are updated to the latest version of iOS.

To do this, go to Settings > General > Software Update and make sure you are using iOS 15 or later.

If an Apple update is available, it’s worth installing it right away.

Once you have the appropriate software installed, Private Relay is pretty easy to set up.

On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Private Relay and turn on Private Relay.

On your Mac, go to System Preferences > Apple ID > iCloud, then check the Private Relay box.

Private Relay gives you the ability to choose the location of your IP address.

You can choose a general location or a broader one like a country.

This means that any websites that track you for advertising purposes generally know where you are, but nothing specific.

The greater your anonymity, the less accurate the online content you see may be.

Private Relay removes all identifying IP address information, giving you a more generic online identity.

It can only be used with Safari and cannot be used for popular VPN activities like trying to stream Netflix content from another country – or in other apps.

It is also not available in a number of countries where the law does not allow such activities.

These include China, Belarus, Colombia, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkmenistan, Uganda and the Philippines.
