I’m a WhatsApp sniffer – a new trick lets you edit your texts after they’ve been sent

WHATSAPP is working on a new feature that will allow you to edit your texts.

This means that you can correct any errors in a text that has already been sent.

The feature is currently under development and was spotted by the tech blog detectives WABetaInfo.

Whatsapp regularly tests new features in the “beta” test version of the apartment.

And there is evidence that WhatsApp is now building a text editing system.

“WhatsApp is developing a new option that will allow us to edit text messages,” explains WABetaInfo.

“So we can finally correct any typo after sending a message.”

The post points out that there probably won’t be an edit history that you can use to check previous versions of messages.

But it says that could change as the feature is still “under development”.

It’s also unclear if there will be a window of opportunity for message processing before it becomes impossible.

You could possibly even use it for pranks, editing some text to make someone’s reply seem funny.

However, this could also lead to more nefarious uses – unless WhatsApp adds a way to show that texts have been edited.

“Unfortunately, as this feature is in development, we don’t know when it will be made available to beta testers,” added WABetaInfo.

It’s also possible that WhatsApp will scrap the feature before it even launches.

And it may take days, weeks, or even months to fully test before it gets to everyone phones.

If you want to try the latest WhatsApp features first, follow our guide below to join the beta.

How to get WhatsApp beta

To download WhatsApp Beta for your smartphone, you need to go to Google Play on your smartphone Android and search for whatsapp.

Scroll down the page until you see “Become a Beta Tester”.

Tap the “I’m in” button, then tap “Join” to confirm.

Now all you have to do is wait for the update to the beta version of the app.

Participating in the WhatsApp beta on iPhone is more difficult and has a limited capacity.
