IF YOU’RE having trouble falling asleep without a bit of music playing in the background, you’re not alone.

Up to three in five people listen to their favorite music to help them fall asleep — although the trick comes with a downside.

Once you’ve finally made it to the land of slumber, the music you’ve been listening to will continue playing overnight.

This can mess up your Spotify listen history and even kill your battery if the device you are listening to is unplugged.

Luckily, a TikTok tipster has a neat iPhone trick for anyone who likes to fall asleep to music.

The tech guru walking by Katarina Mögus recently showed her 2 million followers how to turn off their music after a certain amount of time.

That means you can listen to Apple Music to help you fall asleep without the app playing through your headphones all night.

Katarina shared the trick in a Tiktok video uploaded on 31.5.

She said, “If you love falling asleep and listening to music like I do, you’re going to want to do this.”

The trick involves a little-known feature built into the iPhone’s iOS app that lets you set alarms and start countdown timers.

While playing a track, open Apple Music watch and go to timer Tab.

Set the amount of time you want to elapse before your music stops, then tap When the timer ends.

Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the drop-down list and tap stop playing. blow beginning to start the timer.

When the time is up, the music or podcast you are playing on Apple Music will pause automatically.

“Your music will stop playing automatically and you can have a nice sleep,” Katarina said.

If you don’t use Apple Music, you’re in luck! Other music apps allow you to perform a similar trick with just a few taps.

For example, when playing a track on Spotify, tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the Now Playing screen.

Scroll down and tap sleep timer. Specify the amount of time that should elapse before the music stops.

If you’re playing a podcast on Spotify, setting a sleep timer is even easier.

Just tap the moon icon next to the playback controls and select a time period.
