A TOP TECH fan highlighted a handful of top iPhone features you “need” to get started with.
In a TikTok post on Wednesday, influencer and Apple guru Katrina Mogus shared three time-saving tips with her 2.4 million followers.
Press to copy and paste
Katrina, who posts on TikTok under the username @katamogz, first highlighted a hidden iPhone gesture you probably don’t know.
If you’ve ever copied and pasted on an iPhone, you know it can be frustrating at times.
Most people go the route of tapping and holding on text or a photo and then selecting copy or paste.
However, there is an easier option that works by pinching and spreading your fingers.
To try it yourself, find a photo or highlight some text that you want to copy.
Pinch three fingers on the screen to copy, then spread them apart to paste.
Hide home screens
Do you want to clean up your home screen? Not only can you now remove apps, but you can also hide pages littered with things you rarely use.
The iPhone has been around since 2007 and in that time the number of downloaded apps has exploded.
Even if you organize them into folders, chances are you still have multiple home screens filled with games, social media apps, and more.
Hiding a home screen page is easy.
First, hold your finger on the home screen until your app icons start to shake.
Next, tap the pill-shaped bubble at the bottom of your screen — the one that usually shows which home screen you’re on.
This will take you to a page where you can hide individual home screens by “unchecking” the boxes below.
When you’re done, just click Done in the top right.
Those pages aren’t gone forever and are perfectly preserved, in case you decide to unhide them.
Of course, you can also leave them hidden if you wish.
The apps on your hidden page will not be deleted from your device. They can still be found in your iPhone’s app library, which you can access by swiping left to the very last page.
magnifying glass effect
When taking a screenshot on iPhone, you can add a magnifying glass effect to highlight important parts of the image.
Take a screenshot and tap on the image that appears in the bottom left corner of your screen to open the screenshot editor.
Once there, select the plus icon at the bottom right and tap on magnifying glass.
You can move the magnifying glass by tapping and holding it, and resize it using the colored dots around its perimeter.
When you tap on the magnifying glass, a color palette will appear at the bottom of your screen, allowing you to change the hue of the circle.
