Algorithm, a Dublin-based immersive production studio, is preparing to raise €3 million in funding for its new immersive experience product.
The company was commissioned to create and develop London’s first immersive Christmas experience on Outernet London, working alongside its creative team.
The experience has just opened to the public in Outernet London, a new immersive media and cultural district.
Algorithm has used its new patent-pending technology called “Orbit” to create visual content that moves across revolving screens on all surfaces of an auditorium to completely surround the visitor and immerse them in a Christmassy experience.
The new round of financing will be used to further develop the Orbit product and bring it to the global market.
Algorithm Founder and CEO Nick Linders said: “We are currently evaluating the establishment of bases in the United Arab Emirates, the US West Coast and Europe as we look to the next stages of development.
“The demand for immersive experiences is growing fast, but the content is difficult and time-consuming to produce. Orbit will help creators develop content faster and meet growing audience demand.
“In the near future we will see blockbuster films produced as immersive experiences. Orbit is the product we need to start a revolution in visual storytelling.
“I don’t think it will be long before people enjoy immersive experiences as much as they do going to the movies.”
Since 2015, the company has been designing and realizing award-winning immersive experiences for international art festivals, music concerts, animations and films.
Orbit was developed in collaboration with two funds Animation Ireland and Screen Ireland.
Funds are in place to promote Ireland’s world-class creative sector internationally.
