Although the pub and shop have not been traded for a number of years, they are still fully furnished and would be turned back into fully functioning businesses ‘with minimal effort’.

The house also has a large garden and a mobile home that has been converted into a work and play room for children’s workshops and parties.

It sits on about half an acre of land and has various workshops on the property.

The property “currently generates year-round income” and serves as an Airbnb – marketed as The World’s 1st Self Catering Pub.

The ground floor consists of an entrance hall with doors to a living room and kitchen, a storage room previously used as an office, a shop, a utility room, a cloakroom and a back room.

Describing the kitchen on Daft.ie, the agent said: “A large country style kitchen with plenty of space for a large dining table.

“Waxed wood units with wood countertops. Belfast sink with antique style faucets. Electric stove and new electric stove.

“Ample sockets and connections for dishwashers. Solid fuel oven with back-boiler, on a slate hearth, with wooden surround (recovered from the confessional of the local Aglian church), with large cupboards on either side.

“Two large rear-facing UPVC picture windows. Radiators, two ceiling lights, wall light. TV and Sky sockets. Doors to rear hall and shop.”

The first floor accommodation has five bedrooms, a landing, a heat press, a bathroom and a separate shower room. There are four bathrooms throughout the property.

Dubbed Conroy’s Old Bar, the pub is a traditional Irish village bar that operated until 2003 when the alcohol license was sold.

The listing states: “Very little has been altered in converting it into self-catering accommodation, with the emphasis being on retaining its charm and character, and would therefore convert back into a fully functioning pub (that adding an alcohol license and required consents etc. would be required).”

GARDEN AREA

There is a south facing garden to the side with a wooden fence and a gate to the front.

The listing added: “The garden consists of three rectangular raised vegetable beds with stone edges, a long fruit border, a circular herb bed and a beautiful cherry tree.

“Left of it is a lawn and a flower border with planting in a country house style. To the left of this is another driveway with a stone boundary wall.

“This is closed off with a five bar gate giving access to the workshops and the 31ft mobile home which has been converted into a work and play space for children’s workshops and parties and is supplied with water and electricity.”

Another pub

To the side of the camper is a gravelled courtyard area where there are two workshops with electricity, workbenches, shelving and stable doors as they were formerly used as stables.

The workshops have been clad in wood to give a ranch style effect and are called The Jail, The Saloon and The Bank.

There was originally another pub next to the workshops.

The listing states: “Here the roof and some walls have been removed so that it could no longer be used as the new Conroy’s Bar was being built and this pub’s license had to be canceled so that a new license could be issued to Conroy’s Bar.” .

“This bar was only 3.60 x 4.10 m inside. There was a counter, seating and an open fire. Affectionately known as the Old Forge Bar, it is said to have once been known as Shabeen.

“A new workshop with electricity and light has now been created here, with a window to the front garden and large windows to the back garden.”

The apartment has been rated as one of Ireland’s ‘Most Unique’ self-catering accommodations.
