In an abandoned four-bedroom townhouse ‘from the set of Jumanji’ – and it could be yours for as little as £150,000

AN abandoned townhouse that looks like it’s part of the Jumanji set could be yours for the bargain price of £150,000.

From the outside, the historic apartment in Maryhill, Glasgow looks typical of the Victorian sandstone architecture found across the city.

But stepping inside it’s clear the property has seen better days as the roof collapsed and nature reclaimed every level.

Some rooms have been completely gutted after fire damage and vandalism over the years.

Other photos show debris strewn across the ground, weeds dangling from the open roof, and materials left behind awaiting renovation.

The doors not only have old exposed brickwork but appear to have been hammered in, with jagged edges.

Auction house Scotland has called the property “a place Jumanji would be proud of” thanks to its overgrown garden and seedy aesthetic.

Prior planning permission was granted to convert the property to create four bedrooms and an underground car park, but the application was denied – the building remained vacant and neglected.

But now an opportunity has arisen for the mother of all renovations as the property is being auctioned for £150,000.

Located in the heart of the city and just over an hour’s drive from the capital, the townhouse could be the perfect getaway for students, families or young professionals.

The property will be auctioned off on January 26, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. – anyone with Christmas bonuses could bid for this bargain.
