In an incredible floating city, straight out of the movie Elysium, with spherical houses for 50,000 people

THESE stunning images transport viewers to the incredible floating city of spherical houses that is set to house 50,000 people in the future.
The remarkable concept was developed by an international team of architects and designers, who will be showing the designs at this year’s Biennale Architettura.
The team is led by Italian firm Luca Curci Architects and UK-based Tim Fu Design, who hope to design an eco-friendly village that will adapt to future climate demands.
Images reveal that the floating city resembles a scene from the 2013 dystopian hit Elysium starring Matt Damon.
A network of smooth white structures is connected by a circular street grid, giving the city a modern touch.
The stunning floating village aesthetic is brought to life by the lush green urban forest that inhabits the docks.
Photos also show a mix of high and low houses offering spacious living with glamorous interior design.
Architects Luca Curci issued a statement on the release of their design.
The company said: “The Floating City is designed to support the global response to the threat of climate change.
“Floating cities will shape our future.”
The future community will encompass a total of 25 acres of interconnected platforms and diverse neighborhoods.
Each section will contain a mix of high-rise and low-rise buildings surrounded by a membrane of photovoltaic glasses that will power the entire floating system, making it energy self-sufficient.
There will be a zero waste policy, 100 percent green transportation systems, water desalination, energy storage solutions, a range of renewable energy sources and agriculture.
The company said: “The sustainable city enables its residents to live a healthier lifestyle combined with natural elements and rethinks the traditional concept of community and society.”
The city is also intended to be a tourist destination, with areas dedicated to hotels, wellness centers, shopping malls and leisure attractions.
The floating metropolis will be accessible by sea and air.
The masterpiece will be presented for the first time during this year’s international architecture exhibition Biennale Architettura.
