Millions of people are reminded to check if they owe a cold weather Payment before the program ends on March 31st.
Around 13,000 households are currently entitled to an energy payment because they live in one of the six areas triggered by the scheme. show latest numbers.
This means they are entitled to a Cold weather refund and can therefore receive £25.

This is determined by Met office readings between November 1 and March 31 each year. If temperatures drop below zero for a week or more, a £25 discount will be applied.

To be eligible, you must receive certain benefits, such as: B. Pension Credit, Income Support, Unemployment Benefit and universal credit.
Households can use the DWP’s cold-weather payment to check if a payment is due in their area zip code checker.
As wholesale energy prices continue to rise, millions of families will face higher energy bills from April.
Ofgem has confirmed the energy price cap will increase by £693 to £1,971 on April 1st with the Ukraine crisis threatening an even higher increase from October.
The price cap limits the per-unit cost that energy companies can charge for their standard or standard variable tariffs (SVTs) — this amount can go up or down based on usage.
