Inbetwearies star Blake Harrison has said he doesn’t see the hit E4 show revival “everything” during his Lorraine appearance.
The 36-year-old actor is best known for playing goofy Neil Harrison in the comedy, for three seasons and two spinoffs.
Blake sees the world differently from her quirky character in an appearance opposite host Lorraine Kelly, sporting long curly hair and a mottled gray beard.
After discussing ITV’s latest series of Kate and Koji, the 62-year-old TV presenter turned the conversation to a chance return for the hit Channel 4 sitcom.
She said: “For you Inbetweoners really opened a lot of doors didn’t they? People fell in love with that show and the movies.
“It must have been lovely to be a part of something like that, but I feel like you probably don’t have to – done. Do you feel that or do you feel there is more of a story to be told? “
Blake replied, “I feel like we’ve been done since 2014, when we made our last movie. People just love it, so they want it to do more, but I don’t see that ever happening.”
Then he added: “But you never know.”
Lorraine replied, “Sometimes it’s pretty good when you get that. It’s like you mentioned Fraser – it has a beautiful beginning, middle and end and a beautiful ending. We had it there, we could watch replays of Inbetwearies. “
This comes after James Buckley disappointed fans of The Inbetwearies by saying he would “never come back to the show”.
The 34-year-old actor has played sex-crazed teen Jay Cartwright and fans love his clumsy antics, but James says the character won’t be returning.
DJ Chris Moyles asked him earlier this year: “If the people who wrote The Inbetwearies said ‘we have a new script’ – that’s basically what everyone was up to now – would you like to see it? it’s not? Would you say yes? “
While James admits that Jay’s role is “the best job in the world,” he emphatically replied, “No.”
Trying to explain his reasoning, James said, “It’s not because I don’t think I’m going to have a great time doing it, because I know I will.
“It’s the best job in the world, but it can be – you know, as I get older – it seems like it might be the only job I do professionally that people love.
“There’s not enough money in the world for me to screw that up.”
Lorraine airs at 9am on weekdays on ITV
