Incident in Rottingdean when Sussex Police called, disrupted travel to the A259
Firefighters have attended to a fire reported on a main road, with several emergency vehicles also at the scene.
The fire occurred on Rottingdean High Street, with the northbound road closed for some time.
Three fire pumps as well as police and ambulances are said to be on site.
The incident is also believed to involve the journey between Woodingdean and the A259 and was first reported around 7.30am.
A spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue said: “The East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service will be conducting a fire inquiry after being called to Rottingdean, Brighton this morning 23 December 2022.
“We were called at 6.27am to reports of a fire at a flat at The Green. Three fire engines were deployed.
“Crews used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet. All persons are recorded.”
Sussex Police have also been asked for comment.
