Indie MMO Spotlight: Happy Mother’s Day

Each week we scour the web for all things indie MMO related so you don’t have to. This week we’d like to wish all the gaming moms out there a Happy Mother’s Day. Much of the news we cover here comes in the form of press releases or dev blogs. However, this week I point you to a quick hit review of aether history by one of its community members, aether history Discord member Darktornado23.


We’ve finally reached The End, the final entry in the Ancient Journal series. As I read this final look at an ancient race, I can only hope that our journey is about to begin.

Book of Travels

A new subforum was created on the Book of Travels Steam page this week. The forum, titled Tech Dev Log, will be a place for the developers to post updates about the team’s work on the technical side of things.

broken ranks

Whitemoon announced their next update this week broken ranks would go live on Monday, May 9th. Besides the typical bug fixes and minor fixes, the update will include the Castle Specter instance. The instance is in Lower Khemenak, so level 40 is the minimum requirement. You can read all about it in this dev blog.

chimera land

It’s been a few months chimera land was released on PC and mobile in the SEA region. This week, Proxima Beta announced it would expand coverage with a closed beta open to residents of Canada. The test runs from May 12th to May 17th. Registration is open until May 10th and the registration form can be obtained by going to the official chimera land Side? site.

The cycle: limit

The last beta test ended about a week ago and Yager Development released a CB2 stats video (see below). They also announced the need for more focus testers, and you can find the request here.

The day before

Last week we pondered the question: What’s wrong with The day before? This week we found out. It turns out that the developers decided to migrate the game to Unreal Engine 5. With the move, the release date has now been pushed back nearly nine months to March 1, 2023. If you’ve seen any of the videos demonstrating the power of UE5, you might agree that the change is worth the wait.

In case you haven’t seen it, Novaquark has released a short film, Space Warfare, to showcase the new weapons and PvP hotspots introduced with the Athena update.

With their Kickstarter out before the end of the month, the Genevanad The team was busy preparing for the event. They sent out an e-book full of concept art to everyone on their mailing list this week. It’s pretty cool if you ask me, and you can get a copy by joining their mailing list now.

Gloria Victis

It was another free week for them GM Team as they complete work on a new feature – Guild Technologies. Although they didn’t have a game update, they still took the time to post an update on the GM Steam page to remind everyone that a new Glory Season begins on Thursday, May 12th. The update also includes a preview of the Guild Technologies update and the latest community video contest winner.

Legends of the Aria

Reaper Games is working on jump starters Legends of the Aria With a relaunch and rebranding, a new roadmap update was released this week. The update indicates that players can try out the new 3rd person camera view in a closed alpha test starting on Wednesday May 11th. The update also mentions that OG backers will receive some new rewards and explains the benefits players can expect from the addition of blockchain technology LoA.


Crazy world

The dates for Crazy world last alpha test were announced this week. This will be the “last chance for players to experience a world gone mad” before the game releases later this year. You can still register for the test on the official Crazy world Side? site.

Monsters & Memories

A new month means a new developer update for Monsters & Memories. In Update 20, Shawn Lord fills us in on all the work the team has done over the past month.


This week the profane -Team posted a tweet asking “IS THIS ACTUAL GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE?!” Well no, technically it isn’t as the video was just a series of screenshots. However, they teased that we would be getting details about the upcoming Battle Test and the ability to sign up for a chance to participate next week.

Wealthy Universe

With the Steam launch behind them, the team was able to release a decent dev log this week. You can still read the developer logs on the official one PU Website, but I will link the news on the Steam page in the future.

Raven Twilight

Developer Update #18 was released this week on the Raven Twilight forums

It’s not every day that the undead is a playable race in an MMO, but it will be an available race scars of honor. Go to the SoH Forums to join the weekly discussion and add your two cents on how the undead should be represented.

A township story

That ATT The website was revamped this week. The new website is a new entry point to access the shop, login and registration features previously found only in the Alta Launcher.

Trials of Ascension

Dragonfire Entertainment has posted a new video on YouTube to show off a new area they are working on.

Zenith: The Last City
