Indie MMO Spotlight: Hitting For The Cycle

Each week we scour the web for all things indie MMO related so you don’t have to. This week you asked and I listened. In today’s Indie MMO Spotlight patch (3.20.22) we’re adding a new QoL feature – going forward, a link to each MMO’s official website will be appended to segment headers (apparently some of you have already clicked on it anyway). Please feel free to report any bug issues you encounter in the comments below. Well, that’s enough of me trying to act like a developer. Let’s not waste any more time and get started with this week’s indie MMO spotlight.

chimera land

Sometimes I come across strange things when looking for news. I don’t usually mention it, but when I saw this video on the official chimera land YouTube channel, I just had to add it to this week’s spotlight. Wow just wow.

The cycle: limit

Closed Beta 2 started this week and along with several supplements are added A few bugs have crept into the code for the game. Revised maps, 3 new faction campaigns and new fauna variations are some of the good additions. On the downside, login issues, crashes, and friends list issues were just a few of the hiccups this week. Yager has deployed several patches to fix things and has done a commendable job of keeping everyone updated discord.

If you haven’t received a beta key and are interested in trying out The Cycle before the end of CB2 on April 4th, Twitch Drops is one of the easiest ways to get a key. Just watch a participating streamer for two hours and voila, you get a key.

gamigo’s Glyph Launcher will be used to access the upcoming Broken online closed beta. Migration of Glyph user accounts is scheduled to begin this week, and Dynamight Studios plans to share more details earlier in the week.

Gloria Victis

A new guild level system has been added Gloria Victis in Weekly update 311. As part of the new leveling system, players will see an overhauled guild leaderboard and a new guild tech system. To make guild and alliance decisions more effective, player accounts can only be tied to one guild at a time.

INSANE has released an update on their roadmap for 2022. Movement, character creation, and basic combat have all reached the “completed” stage, closely followed by architecture and the spawner system. The tweet clarified that full means the system is ready for testing and that additional work may be needed in the future.

Project F4E

The first pre-launch season, Knights of Power, took place this weekend. Seasons are part of it Project F4E Prologue and takes place every 4 weeks. You can earn rewards during the prologue seasons by completing quests and earning prologue points. You can get all the details about the Knights of Power season here.

Wealthy Universe

in the Development Log #326Fabian talks about upcoming quality of life improvements, Nick is back from vacation and announces the winner of the recent Name That Planet contest, and Michi reports that the database and not the server caused the game to go down this week.

Raven Twilight

Developer update #17 was posted on the Raven Twilight forums this week. The team is working hard to implement the suggestions from Alpha 4, and the post outlines many of the changes players can expect in Alpha 5.

Realm of the mad god

the Elemental Catalyst Event begins March 24th and runs through March 28th, spawning multiple locations with modifiers and multipliers. And for those looking for a little taste of things to come, the Testing Server has a laundry list of changes that can now be previewed.

Patch 0.1.0.4 went live this week, bringing several updates to both the PC and Quest versions of ATT. You will find the r/TownshipTale patch notes underreddit. There’s one too Reissue of the Alta Logs. This issue – #5 for those keeping count – provides the answers to some of the most popular questions from the last blog poll.

This week, Ramen VR closed a $35 million Series B round of financing. the additional cash inflow means Ramen VR will be able to hire more staff to refine the current experience and add new leveling and endgame content.
