Indie MMO Spotlight: I Beta There’s a lot of news

Each week we scour the web for all things indie MMO related so you don’t have to. It’s not just the weather heating up this week, as many of our indie MMOs are going into alpha or beta testing in the near future. There was also an insane amount of patches and updates released this week. With so much to cover, let’s stop wasting time and start with this week’s indie MMO spotlight.

BitCraft

That last vignette posted to BitCraft Twitter Quick mentions market stalls, a place where one can “buy local goods from the locals — goods not found in other parts of the world.” Does that mean BitCraft Will there be player-run stalls that require caravans (and guards) to deliver goods? I hope so. To discuss!

broken ranks

Last week we mentioned that the latest patch for broken ranks would go live on Monday May 9th. It did, and you can read the full patch notes on the broken ranks changelog.

chimera land

The closed beta test has started in Canada and Japan and will run until May 17th. While the test still appears to be region-locked on the Google Play Store, the PC beta test client (like the live version) can be accessed from any region.

corepunk

A post on the corepunk Discord announced this week that the majority of Artificial Core’s staff are Ukrainians and will end support for the Russian region due to the ongoing conflict in the region. On May 17, the Russian website, forum and Discord channel will be deactivated.

The cycle: limit

The first round of invitations has been sent out to new members of the focus testing group, with more expected to be delivered on Monday.

dual universe

There is good/bad news for everyone dual universe Kickstarter backers out there. A forum post announced that the dual universe The production of figures and collector’s boxes has been completed. However, there are some issues with the partner responsible for shipping these items and delivery of the physical rewards will not begin until the issues are resolved.

Novaquark also introduced a brand new podcast this week. Episode #1 of the Ask Aphelia Podcast see the dual universe Youtube channel.

Ethyral: Echoes of Once

A major patch was released on Saturday. Lair of the Exiles, a new 5-man dungeon geared towards level 30+ players, can now be found in the Old Mines. The new dungeon serves as a foundation to help players prepare for the new 20-man dungeon, Elemental Rift. Along with all the new loot that can be obtained by completing both dungeons, all party members involved in the world’s first kill of the final Elemental Rift boss will receive a unique reward.

foxhole

A new devblog titled spring update, was posted this week. The blog served as a preview of Update 49, a small update scheduled to arrive before version 1.0 goes live later this year. Update 49 appears to be a minor update focused on bug fixes and optimization rather than adding new mechanics to the gameplay.

broken online

After a short delay, patch b.0.1e went live on Thursday, followed by downtime for a quick hotfix on Friday. Crafting fees and taxes have been introduced, ports are now PvP-free within 50 meters of the port office building, and some player animations have been tweaked. All changes and bug fixes can be found in the full patch notes.

Genevanad

In this week, Genevanad Developer Rose Tinted Glasses has been busy promoting their upcoming Kickstarter campaign. A new announcement video revealed the campaign’s launch date of May 31 (no surprise given the previous hints). The announcement was covered by several media outlets including gaming press, gaming trendand PocketGamer.

Gloria Victis

Weekly update 318 was released this week along with the v0.9.9.4 patch. Along with a new Season of Glory, Guild Technologies have also been added, which can be accessed by pressing [G] key on your keyboard.

Legends of the Aria

The first alpha for LoA 2.0 went live on Wednesday, admitting to anyone with a premium subscription LoA classic a first look at the updated game. Anyone interested in trying out the alpha can still get a premium subscription by visiting the LoA Side? site. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait until the beta test scheduled for this summer.

Crazy world

A second trailer for the upcoming Crazy world Final Alpha was released this week. A third trailer is expected to appear on May 23, just two days before the start of the Final Alpha.

past fate

An official alpha trailer for past fate went live this week giving us a 60 second look at gameplay including fishing, mining and combat!

profane

INSANE announced that they would begin conducting multiple combat test sessions for profane In the coming weeks. The test is only limited to character customization, basic attack and movement functions. A post on the profane The Discord channel describes what players can expect during testing, and anyone interested can do so apply by filling out an application.

In Development Log #334Martin, Nick and Michi inform you about their latest work.

Realm of the mad god

The third year (?) In shards and pieces Event took place this week. The event runs until Monday, May 16th, so you still have a few hours to snag some additional loot. If you miss the event, you can always join the Rebuild Event which runs from May 17th to May 31st.

There was also a blog post earlier in the week discussing this new weapon subtypes that would be added RotMG later this year.

scars of honor

They might not be as exciting as last week’s featured race (the undead!), but this week’s are SoH Team opened a discussion about an RPG staple, the High Elf. Grab your pointy prosthetic ear and join the discussion about the SoH forums.

A township story

There was a new patch this week, main-0.1.2.4, which brought a handful of quest and PC updates and fixes. You can Read the full patch notes here. After a week’s hiatus, Community Manager Cayde also released Alta Logs #7, where they took the time to introduce some new members of the team.

Untamed Islands

I missed them Developer update for April this was posted on May 3rd. Better late than never, right?

Villagers & Heroes

So the servers were down for a few minutes on Tuesday V&H Team might provide a new patch. The patch mainly focused on fixing existing bugs related to collision and motion issues.

Wild Terra 2

It can be a very short entry on the Wild Terra 2 Steam News page, but the post has two big announcements. First, animal husbandry. Second, a complete change to the beginning of the game with a new storyline, locations, and updated quest chains. That’s all the information the post has, so stay tuned for future updates.

world seed

After a short Early Access phase steam, world seed will be officially released on Tuesday May 17th. The release price is not mentioned, but the current Early Access price is $8.99.
