Every week we scour the internet to find all things indie MMO related stuff, so you don’t have to. This week, we’ve got a ton of alpha and beta news, lots of blog posts outlining patch updates, and even a few studios changing the direction of their development. But hey, why waste time telling you what you’ll find below when you can already read it. So let’s stop wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.

Aether’s Story

BitCraft

Forum member hupa beat me to this, but Clockwork Labs shared one blog post that sheds light on the skill system in BitCraft. Instead of using combat qualifications as an overall character’s level, characters will be defined by their specialization into specific occupations. So instead of being a level 20 player, you will be identified as a level 20 Smith or a level 30 hunter.

Tourism book

After last week’s World Update 0 patch, the developer Might & Delight is changing focus. Citing TMO’s need to build the foundation instead of “wrapping a towel around it,” the team will only work on fixing bugs over the next few months rather than splitting resources by working on new content. Chimeraland has been going strong since its release on January 6. It took a couple of weeks longer than expected, but the HUD overhaul and interface backend rework has finally arrived. Weekly update 306. The update includes a new minimap, a visual remake of the chat interface, and a new quick access bar. All remakes bring back the visuals of these components in line with other recent visual upgrades and will provide players with a more immersive and intuitive user interface.
