Inside an incredible new superyacht said to be the widest in the world

AN INCREDIBLE new superyacht is set to become the world’s widest – and it’s costing a whopping £418million.

Designed by the Italian company Lazzarini, the Sovrano was conceived for use as a private yacht.

When built, the ship will have two helipads perched on extendable platforms, each extending five meters to the side.

If they are lengthened, the 22m-wide boat will become 33m wide, which Lazzarini says will make it the widest superyacht in the world.

The company refers to the helipads as “helipools” because they can be converted into swimming pools if the owner doesn’t find the need for two helipads.

Alternatively, the platforms can be converted into lounges or dining areas that can be lowered to the water surface to allow guests to sunbathe or dine on the waterline.

In addition to the heli pools, the yacht has five swimming pools on her five decks.

The 169 m long ship accommodates up to 50 guests in 20 private suites and accommodates up to 60 crew members.

The three main floors of the ship house the suites and a gym and are built in an oval shape around the atrium – one of the distinctive features of the boat.

The atrium is a large sunken courtyard with a huge swimming pool adorned with palm trees, creating an oasis that guests can look out over from their balconies.

Generally, the atrium will be open at the top, but the designers have plans for a large cover that can be used to provide shelter so guests can enjoy the space, whatever the weather.

And if the owner wants to moor and set sail – the yacht has a huge garage with space for up to six cars, as well as two 15 meter tenders.

Accordingly Robb reportLazzarini estimates it will take four years to build Savrano.
