ELON Musk is getting special treatment that bans everyone at SpaceX and Tesla from accessing his work email, it has been revealed.

Both of the tech billionaire’s companies appear to have policies that make it clear that no employee should expect complete privacy when it comes to their work accounts.

But the world’s richest man, 50, seems to be above the rules.

The special privilege was announced by the judge overseeing Musk’s hurricane lawsuit against Twitter.

It came as the social network argued that important emails should be made public.

Musk is currently trying to back out of a deal to buy Twitter for $44 billion (£34.5 billion) amid a dispute over the number of fake accounts on the platform.

Tesla will be banned directly by Musk without consent unless “legally required.”

Meanwhile, at SpaceX, everyone is restricted without their permission.

Because of the special rule, Musk’s emails will remain private, Justice Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick said.

“A cynic might doubt that Musk-specific policies exist at SpaceX and Tesla,” she writes.

“Defendants’ factual arguments in this regard are based solely on the affidavits of Musk, for whom the stakes are high in this litigation, and three of his direct reports, and none of the affidavits are supported by company records reflecting Musk-specific rules .

“Nevertheless, the evidence rings true for this lawyer.”

It all comes after the Tesla and SpaceX founder claims that his tweets are be suppressed.

Meanwhile, Twitter shareholders approved his $44 billion bid to buy the company on Tuesday.

Shareholders voted to acquire Musk, which valued each share at $54.20.

And most believe the court will likely rule in Twitter’s favor — and Musk could face hefty fines, confiscation of his Tesla stock, or even imprisonment if he doesn’t comply.

The epic legal showdown will play out in the Delaware Chancery Court in just a few weeks.
