Alison Hammond is on her way to lose weight and looks better than ever.
The bubbly This Morning host, 47, has been on a quest to shed some weight for the past few years since becoming a Weight Watchers ambassador in April 2019.
And earlier this week, she broke down on the ITV daytime show after being left moved by a phone segment – where a woman called to admit she was worried about her teenage daughter as she didn’t know how to help her with her eating disorder.
The former Big Brother star said she was deeply touched by the young woman’s story as she tried to hold back tears.
Alison shared her own weight struggles and addressed the guest’s feelings.
The TV star said: “Can I just say something? Apparently I’ve had – I get annoyed – I’ve had obesity all my life. And what it is is that your regulatory system is out of whack. So obviously you can’t control wanting to eat all the time.”
“And I think what a lot of people don’t know is that obesity is a disease. You can’t help but want to eat all the time,” she added as she burst into tears. She was comforted by Dermot and Deirdre as she added: “Sorry, I understand – sorry.
“Because I think people look down on people just because they’re so tall and they can’t really change it if they have an illness. When you’re in, it’s difficult. You want to eat and you want all the bad things and you know you don’t look right. I’m sorry, it touched me.
But mother-of-one Alison has come a long way on her weight-loss journey.
She’s been training hard in the gym and lifting weights — and she has a personal trainer who keeps her motivation going.
When it comes to healthy eating, Alison enjoys dishes with chicken and spinach or ground beef and cauliflower rice while snacking on bananas or bowls of yogurt and berries.
But she also indulges in a few cheat days and will occasionally have a piece of chocolate cake to balance it all out.
The heaviest was Alison 20 stone, although it’s not clear what her weight is now.
She said her target weight would be 13 stone, which is perfect for her 5ft 9in height.
Speaking of her weight loss goals, Alison previously said, “My WW journey is focused on becoming healthier for myself.
“I feel bad if I don’t eat properly or exercise, and WW helps me with what I eat and what I do.
“I want my journey to empower others to consider making lifestyle changes to become the best version of themselves.”
