almost a month ago, Guild Wars 2 released their third expansion, end of the dragons. One of the many important parts of expansions is always the new soundtrack that comes along with it, and EoD is no exception on this front. With a length of two hours and twenty minutes, the EoD soundtrack is the longest released with any of the previous expansions. It also has the widest variety of music, and yet it all comes together in a beautiful treat for the ears.
Last week I had the opportunity to talk to Maclaine Diemer about the process of writing music for a GW2 Expansion and what it’s like to work on it with different employees. We also delved a bit into the experience of recording the music with a live orchestra and how that has changed over the past few years. Join us as we delve a little deeper into all the different topics of how Diemer started writing music GW2 and even into some more personal aspects of his life.
