Apple announced four new models at its Far Out event in California earlier this month.

Now the release date for three of them is finally set: Friday, September 16th.

Online shipments for the iPhone 14 in all storage sizes and color options are expected to arrive on Thursday September 22nd.

But it’s even worse for the iPhone 14 Pro.

All color options and storage sizes for the iPhone 14 Pro are currently shipping from October 19th to 26th.

That’s potentially a four-week delay.

The longest wait is currently for a new iPhone 14 Pro Max model.

All color options and memory configurations are scheduled to ship between October 26th and November 2nd.

You can try your luck by showing up at a UK store to snag a device.

However, Apple Stores are only accepting product reservation appointments on a temporary basis — not walk-in purchases.

Apple stores in the UK return to normal on Tuesday 20th September.

So you will have to wait until then to just go to a store and buy a new iPhone 14.

There’s even worse news if you’ve been hoping to buy an iPhone 14 Plus: you’ll have to wait a long time.

When the Plus model was announced by Apple, it was given a later release date.

So you won’t get the iPhone 14 Plus until October 7th at the earliest.

And that’s assuming the plus-size model doesn’t sell out quickly, causing further delays.

Apple is currently temporarily operating a restricted retail store during the national period of mourning ahead of the Queen’s state funeral.

Normally, Apple fans would line up outside stores across the UK ahead of the opening – hoping to bag a new iPhone.

But on Friday 16 September UK shops will be open from 8am for new product reservations only.

That means there are no walk-in customers: if you don’t have an iPhone reserved, you can’t make a purchase.

Some small queues can form at Apple Stores, but these are for reservation customers only — and limited in time.

There will be limited Genius Bar services and no Today at Apple sessions.

However, you can still request a personal setup for your new iPhone.

These rules remain in place on Saturday 17th September and Sunday 18th September.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral will take place on Monday September 19 – and the Apple Stores will remain closed.
