A tech guru has shared a little-known hack to help iPhone users boost their signal — it’s quick, easy, and can be done anywhere.

TikTok user Scott Polderman regularly shares tips with his 1.4 million followers, and he recently turned his attention to the well-known scenario of the signal going out.

We’ve all been there, just when you think you should have plenty of signal there are no bars – or maybe you’ve called someone and they can’t hear what you’re saying.

Scott uploading to TikTok as @scottpoldermannsaid all you have to do is toggle Airplane mode on and off – and you’ll have more signal in no time.

This hack works because there is a modem in your phone that it uses to connect to nearby towers, which allows your phone to connect to others.

But it drains the battery to check for new towers, so the checks to save power are only done intermittently.

However, you can get your phone to do this early by turning the plane off and on again.

All you have to do is open the control center by swiping down from the top right corner of your iPhone and then clicking on the airplane icon.

Then wait a few seconds and try again – easy.

Scott’s video proved popular with his fans as it soon racked up over 100,000 views and plenty of comments, mostly from people praising him for sharing the tip.

One wrote, “I’ve been doing this for years and never knew why or how I even knew I should be doing this… now I know.”
