NO ONE wants a sluggish smartphone but it’s a problem that happens all too often.
The slowdown is something we’re sad to expect after a couple of years with the same handset but you’d be a bit confused if it happened in a recent purchase.
Well, that’s what happened to a Reddit users, not long after receiving the iPhone 13.
They found their equipment was running at about half capacity.
But luckily, they found a little trick that gets things back into the fast lane again.
And all you have to do is perform a force restart.
How to do a force restart on iPhone
Force restart is not the same as the normal shutdown method.
Instead, this gives everything a proper reset.
So, before you even think about continuing, make sure everything is saved, or else it will be lost.
While a forced reboot is safe, Apple’s support documentation says you should only do it as a last resort when a normal reboot doesn’t fix the problem.
So when you’re ready, just press and quickly release the volume up button, then press and hold the side button.
Press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears – then you can release it.
Your phone should now be refreshed and hopefully work a little faster.
You can also do this trick on older iPhones, not just iPhone 13.
